Muriwai Walk
This stunning coastal walk leaves the Muriwai Hilltop Carpark and follows a farm track along the ridge towards Wharekaiatua Pa and down to the beach.

Track Description: 458 Fletcher Bay Rd, Fletcher Bay; 58 km/90 min north of town, mostly on gravel road (no dogs) – 2-hr/6-km return.
Located 3 km beyond Port Jackson Campground, this stunning coastal walk leaves the Muriwai Hilltop Carpark and follows a farm track along the ridge towards Wharekaiatua Pa and down to the beach. Enjoy views to Aotea/Great Barrier Island. Other history here includes timber trading and a flax mill.
Follow the track until you reach the Muriwai estuary (easier to cross at low tide) and continue along the beach until you get to the boat ramp at Port Jackson campground. Walk through the campground and head back up Fletcher Bay Rd to the hilltop carpark or turn around and return the way you came, via the Muriwai Walk. Toilet in campground.
