Community Support is Our Focus

Thrive Coromandel Trust’s primary goal is to operate the Coromandel Town Information Centre for the benefit of the entire community of the upper Coromandel Peninsula

The Coromandel Town Information Centre is owned and operated by Thrive Coromandel Trust, a registered charity with the NZ Charities Service (CC55751).

Thrive Coromandel Trust’s primary goal is to operate the Coromandel Town Information Centre for the benefit of the entire community of the upper Coromandel Peninsula, by receiving and disseminating information 7 days a week in person as well as via email, social media, radio slots, print media, a TV monitor and SMS messaging.

By promoting activities and events, the Coromandel Town Information Centre supports community groups working to restore, preserve and protect the unique environment and heritage of the region as well as those celebrating the arts.  It also provides a channel through which people can find out what is happening and how they can join in and have fun together.

The Coromandel Town Information Centre works to keep residents and visitors safe by disseminating public announcements such as road closures, weather events, power outages and water safety notices.

Much of the work of the Coromandel Town Information Centre is carried out by an enthusiastic and experienced team of volunteers who are passionate about our community and our region. Residents frequently pop in for a chat or for help with private matters as they know they can rely on the team to keep things in confidence.

We would love for every resident in the region to be on our mailing list and receiving SMS messages so that they are receiving up to date information. If you would like to find out more, pop in and have a chat! Or get in touch via our other contacts below.

Looking forward to meet you – or to hearing from you.

About the Info Centre’s history

The Coromandel Business Association opened the Coromandel Town Information Centre in its current location with the support of the Thames-Coromandel District Council.

Initially intended to support the local tourism industry and retailers, its role quickly grew to being the central place in town where residents and visitors find out what was happening.

Following a strategic review in 2017, Business Association members agreed to support the establishment of a charitable trust to better position the Information Centre to meet future needs.
