Track Description: 116 Waihirere Dr, Tuateawa; 45 min/25 km north of town via Driving Creek and Kennedy Bay roads, mostly on a gravel road – 1-hr/2.2-km return walk (no dogs).
This bush walk descends from Waihirere Dr, through pōhutukawa and nikau trees, to a rocky beach. Enjoy superb scenery, amazing sea views and a tunnel under a private road.
This walk starts on your right about 300m past Puriri Pl. From Kennedy Bay continue north on Tuateawa Rd, turn right onto Waihirere Dr and park in the cul-de-sac that’s 200m past the track marker.
