Driving Creek

Ride our iconic railway, soar the zipline, shap pottery by hand and explore native bush.

All in one Coromandel adventure.

Where art, nature and ingenuity meet: railway rides, zipline thrills, pottery classes and a native conservation park, just 8 minutes from Coromandel town centre. An experience not to be missed.

Your driver will bring the journey to life with the story of Barry Brickell, the potter whose vision built this place by hand. As your train winds up through switchbacks, tunnels and viaducts, you’ll travel through 60 acres of regenerating native bush, past young kauri, rimu and ferns, all the way to the EyeFull Tower lookout for sweeping views over Coromandel Town and the Hauraki Gulf.

Along the way, you’ll hear how pottery shaped Driving Creek from the very beginning, and learn about the ongoing work to restore this land to how it looked before European settlement. Keep an eye out for hidden gems too: pottery sculptures and artworks tucked into the bush, and the occasional zipliner soaring overhead.

This is far more than a railway journey. It’s suitable for all ages and runs rain or shine, making it a great choice whatever the Coromandel weather is doing.
