COROMANDEL TOWN INFORMATION CENTRE
At the time of writing this article we have passed the middle of winter mark and look forward to the daylight extension and temperatures rising – there have been a couple of chilly mornings, thus far.
Many locals have taken the opportunity to escape our winter by taking a mid-winter break to more tropical climes, yours truly included. A week in Tahiti certainly allowed us to thaw out a little in a beautiful country – albeit, a foreign language country! While each country and region has many and varied activities to offer and experience, in comparison to what we have to offer in Coromandel Town, I believe we can hold our own in our little corner of the globe.
The unique kiwi experiences we have to offer and those kiwi’s who introduce and guide our visitors through those experiences and activities are among some of the best in the world. The number of international tourists we get in the Information Centre who comment on how friendly Kiwi’s are and interacting with them has been the highlight of their trip, are too numerous to count.
We have put together a free package of puzzles, environmental information, maps, colouring pencils (and much more) for the younger visitors to the area – Beach, Bush and Beyond. As the school holidays have just begun, the hope is we will be able to dispense them to visitors and locals alike over this time. Please, if you have children and/or visitors that you think would enjoy one of these packages, please pop into the Information Centre and collect one. We envisage what is included in these reuseable bags will change from time to time so feedback would also be greatly appreciated.
